Marriage & Family Therapy Trainee
Summer 2026 – Spring 2027

The Kortschak Center for Learning and Creativity supports USC students in strengthening academic resilience, self-understanding, and overall well-being. Kyra’s clinical training there is grounded in relational and systems-based care, with an emphasis on supporting students as they navigate identity, stress, and transitions within high-performance environments. This experience informs her developing clinical perspective and long-term focus on integrative, systems-oriented practice.


Graduate Training

University of Southern California

Master of Science in Marriage & Family Therapy, in progress

Her clinical experience includes biopsychosocial assessment, case conceptualization, and the integration of systems-based and culturally responsive approaches to care. She is trained to recognize relational patterns, assess risk, and work with individuals and families across a range of presenting concerns.

Skills:

  • Biopsychosocial and diagnostic assessment

  • Suicide risk assessment and safety planning

  • Case conceptualization from a systems-oriented perspective

  • Trauma-informed and culturally responsive care

  • Analysis of family systems and intergenerational patterns

Additional training includes Psychological First Aid (PFA) and Skills for Psychological Recovery (SPR), with an emphasis on early intervention and trauma-informed care.

All clinical work is conducted under supervision in accordance with program and licensing requirements.

Her undergraduate work explored the intersection of cultural narrative, representation, and institutional power.
